Happy Monday lovers!

I hope you are all well and have a lovely weekend.

By now I can imagine that you’re all in the festive mood and have been for some time. Well until last week for me it didn’t quite feel like Christmas time at all.

Spending the build up to crimbo in Lisbon has been a great experience as I have managed to escape the madness and decorations on steroids that I became accustomed to whilst living in the UK and despite working in customer service for one of the UK biggest online fashion retailers, I have also managed to keep my sanity.

However, today I am flying home for to spend the Christmas with my family and I have to say that the little elf that lives inside of me is ready to come out and play!

Image sourced form pinterest.com

For me Christmas isn’t about a religious celebration (because I’m not really a conventional religious person.) Christmas is about a time that you spend with the people you love the most, to eat, drink and be merry. But most importantly to celebrate and show appreciation for one another.

When it comes to family , yes we may want to kill each other at times and we may not always see eye to eye but… it’s Christmas “... the most wonderful time of the year” so put aside your differences, break out the board games, pop some bubbly and enjoy and be present in the moment of Crimbo!

Have an amazing Christmas lovebugs! I hope that Father Christmas brings you everything that you asked for.

Happy Monday Lovers!

So a few months ago there was this photo that was all over the internet and newspapers about this lovely and cute little old lady simply living in the moment at a film premier in the States.

Image sourced form Google.com

The world became obsessed (for a short while) with the fact that while all the other people in the photo were busy capturing the moment on the smart phones, this little old lady didn’t give a rats arse about taking photos at all because she was more than happy capturing everything she needed at that time with her eyes.

Today we have become so obsessed with taking instant pictures and sharing them with the world that we have forgotten that sometimes an image simply can't do any justice to what is happening right in front of us.

Some moments aren’t meant to be captured by a smartphone camera or even an SLR. Some moments are meant to be lived so that you can feel whatever it is that you are supposed to feel in that moment and take it with you.

Image sourced from Pinterest.com

This week instead of whipping out your phone when you see something amazing, take the time to enjoy it and observe how it make you feel.

But if you happen to bump into say… BeyoncĂ© or your ultimate idol this week then I think it’s safe to say that you need to make sure you snap that shit as we will all want proof of that moment!

Have a great week y’all!

Answer: Every-bloody-thing!

For some people failure simply isn’t an option and while I think it’s important to succeed in whatever we do, a lot of success doesn’t come without a lot of failure.

Failing, or not getting things right first time round is how we learn. It’s also what makes success and victory taste even sweeter.

I once read a quote (because we all know how much I love a good quote) that said;

“If success was always instant and easy, Everyone would be successful, and there would be no pride in achievement. ” – Patrick McCormick

This is so true, because things that are worth a lot don’t come easy. Think about you most important relationships in life, they are what they are because of the work that goes into them and the mistakes that all parties involved have made along the way, that important lessons we learned from; Think about when you were at school, college, uni or even work, at some point there would’ve been an essay, test, assignment or project that you may have not performed the way you wanted to, but think about what you learned from that helped you succeed next time round and the time after that.

Life is too short to try and avoid making mistakes or failing. I say we all let go and face the facts that we can’t always get it right and by doing just that... one day we will realise that we got everything right, even the mistakes and those bloody failures too, because everything will always turn out exactly the way it’s supposed to be.

Have a great week love bugs.

Hey there Lovebugs!

I hope you all had a fab weekend and are looking forward to the week ahead.

Question - Does your mind ever run a thousand miles an hour generating idea after idea of the things you want to do, have or be? Well mine does and because of this one of the many things that I have managed learn about myself is that I have a very overactive imagination!

Don’t get me wrong this has its advantages, as it keeps me on my toes, but sometimes I get so caught up in it all and that I accidentally exhaust myself mentally, physically and emotionally.

There is nothing wrong with being ambitious, driven, determined and all that good stuff, but it’s important to remember that ‘You can do anything, but not everything’ .

This quote regularly keeps me in check as it’s a reminded of my talents and what I am capable of, but it also encourages me to prioritise by what I want the most and what is realistic, to what I can take on at the time.

So if you find yourself overwhelmed with amazing ideas or even by the request of others, take a moment stop and remind yourself that you are more capable of anything but that doesn’t mean that you should burn yourself out trying to achieve it all at once.

Take your time with what’s most important to you and have a great week me darlings!

Monday Motivation

This can happen to the best of us at times. Losing myself is a place that I feel like I visit too often these days, but in my moments of clarity I remember that when I feel like I’ve lost the girl that I used to be, or am unsure of who I am or what I want these days, I remember that it’s ok to have these feelings because I am just shedding the skin of what is no longer needed, taking what I have learned and what I’m still learning, and am evolving into the person I’m supposed to be for the next chapter of my life.

Yes feeling like you are losing yourself on the regular can be, scary, frustrating, lonely and bloody awful, but the key to losing yourself from time to time is making sure that all of those good ass friends and family that love you as much as the air they breathe are by your side physically, emotionally or in my case virtually, to remind you how bloody awesome, talented, beautiful and loved you are in those moments when you don’t know how to remind yourself! And with that... you will never truly lose yourself all the way because these magnificent lovers we call family and friends will never let you!

Have a great week love bugs and remember, it’s normal and fine to lose your shit from time to time... just don’t lose it forever!

Happy Monday Lovers!

I’ve always had this tendency to construct master plans for life which more recently is something that I’ve been working my arse off to move away from.

Having a plan for anything is a good thing, however it can also be devastating when your plans don’t seem to work out the way you expected and also can stop you from living in the moment.

But here’s what I’ve learned about making plans in life and for life; Things ALWAYS work out just the way that are supposed to even if it’s the complete opposite of what you planned.

So when you have days or moments where things don’t seem to be going your way, just take a deep breath and roll with it, accept it for what is, make good decisions, embrace it and learn from it.

Image sourced from pinterest.com

Remember that things always unfold just the way they are supposed to, so if you’re wondering why you haven’t had that promotion or why you haven’t met the guy of your dreams despite your detailed master plan, it’s just because there is a bigger and better plan for you in the works and if you stay open and positive, when the time is right things will be exactly the way they were always supposed to be and all the things you considered to have gone wrong, will suddenly feel like things that went right.

Have a great week amigos!

The mind is a powerful thing.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you have started with one negative thought and before you knew it, you had become overwhelmed with emotions and not necessarily the good kind?

Like I said the mind id a powerful thing and if you give too much power to your thoughts especially the negative ones you can easily end up in a places that feel emotionally and mentally draining. But on the flip side of that, if you start to think more positively you will find that you will experience emotions that feel much more energising and happy which will inspire you to hold on to those feelings for as long as you can.

Staying in a positive frame of mind all day everyday is, well, at least for me... impossible. Simply because shit happens in life and you have to go through the (e)-motions to get to the other side.

But as silly of as difficult as it may sound to ‘train your mind to see the good in everything’, it’s actually one of the best things that you can do. Trust me on this one!

By doing this, eventually you’ll realise that the things that were once big issues causing you stress, anger and heartache are actually not worth the hassle.

It will help you to put things in to perspective about who and what is important and who and what’s not. Without realising it, training your mind to ‘think happy thoughts’ (yep, just like peter pan) will open your mind and your world to things you never imagined. (Ok so you won’t be able to fly your way back to Never Never Land, but I assure you there are plenty other things you’ll experience with your feet planted firmly on the ground.)

Happy Monday Lovebugs! Have a great week and remember to think happy thoughts!

Monday Motivation

We live in a world where we are constantly being subconsciously and sometimes consciously moulded into what society, families, friends and even companies want us to be for many a different reasons, which basically all boil down to control.

Some people will never understand this or even realise that this is happening to them. Some people will realise it's happening but simply can't find the courage to confront it, where others will realise it, confront it and tell it to shove it where the sun don't shine!

By doing the latter, you will most certainly piss off a couple of people but hey, I say that's a small price to pay for breaking free and being true to yourself.

In today's world we have become so consumed by working hard and playing less that we have lost touch with the things that really matter.

One of the hardest challenges in this life (that ironically should be the easiest), is being true to who we are. This can be for a number of different reasons, but more than often I find that this is simply because who we really are, at our core, conflicts with the expectations that society has set for the human race.

So this week, (and for every week hereafter) I would like to ask you all to be true to yourself! Think about you and what makes you feel good, what makes you smile and what makes you feel free and what ever that is, find a way to bring it to life!

The other day I read a quote that went something like this… ‘In life you’re always going to end up pissing someone off, so you may as well just do you and piss them off anyway.’

People are not going to like every decision you make, especially the ones that do not include them or hold their best interests at heart. Sometime you have to stop putting others first in order to grow as a person to then be able to help others.

Do not let those who do not understand this prevent you from being you or taking chances on the things in life that you want and need. Someday, they will understand and respect the decisions that you made and if not…. Oh well, because you have to do right by yourself before you are able to do right by others.

Monday Motivation

Sometime in our lives things can be going great, so great that you never want them to change. But like good old Forest Gumps mama used to say, “Life is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you gonna get”, and boy was mama Gump right.

One day your life is everything you imagined it to be and more, only for the next day for things to have made a sudden change.

Change has a way of throwing you off track and making you think that everything is going wrong. But if there is anything that I have learnt over the past few years is that change is good even when it feels bad. Change always presents us with the opportunity to try new things, to challenge ourselves, and to understand things and others in a different light, it’s just up to us how we choose to perceive that change.

So whenever I feel like life isn’t going the way I want it to and things around me start to change I simply tell remember and tell myself that….

And then keep it moving!

Have a great week lovers and embrace whatever change comes your way because believe me change always has a purpose.

Good morning Love bugs!

I have some good news… Monday Motivation is making a comeback!!
Image sourced from Google

The past few months I have been having the time of my life living my life, but as the cold days and nights draw in I have started to lose my happy mojo and this is a no bueno for me! Never before have I felt so affected by the weather, but I think that perhaps after such a great summer here in the UK which is rare as the Caribbean having a bad one that this feeling I’ve been experiencing is completely normal, except the fact I doesn’t feel normal or natural to me.

So  for the past few weeks I have been working my ass off to be happy, this can be really hard to do when your mojo goes walkabout, but if you are persistent and determined and do and surround yourself with the things you love eventually your mojo will find its way back.

Monday Motivation

Well hello there lovers! It’s been a while since I’ve been done a Monday Motivation post but while I have a minute I thought I try and get back into it to spread some love and happiness on this sunny Monday.

Being thankful is the theme this week.

Sometimes we get so caught up in the past and the future that we forget about the here and now. This is so easy to do when you have a vision of what you want out of life but it is so important to remember to also focus on the present, the people you have in your life in this moment, the things that you have in your life in this moment and even the things that go wrong in your life in this moment. It’s only when you do this that you’re able to realise just how amazing your life actually is and the fact that out of the thousands of people around the world that die on a daily basis YOU wake up morning after morning to a world that is your oyster. So if that isn’t enough to be thankful for then Honey boo-boo Child…. I don’t know what is?!

Have a great week lovebugs, be happy be thankful and love the life you live! If you can’t do this then it may be time to make some changes. xxxx

Monday Motivation

Hey there lovers!

I hope you’ve been having a great Bank Holiday weekend.

The past few weeks for me have been great but also very trying. I’d started to feel like I was losing my sense of self and inner light as my new job, which I love but is also very intense, had started to seep its way into almost every aspect of my life… even my sleep, and if there is one thing that I don’t play around with, it’s my sleep. So as you can imagine when this happened it was time for me to take action and regain control over my life. This hasn’t been an easy task to do because as much as I tried with all my might, my laptop still found itself in my backpack for a weekend away from the office to casa del Sara. But as an attempt to remember and restore all the other things in my life other than work that are important to me, particularly my dreams and aspirations I’ve started reading Paulo Coelho’s ‘The Alchemist’ for the second time.

If you have not read this book before I strongly suggest that you make it a priority to add it to your collection because this is a book like no other.
Sometimes in life we get so caught up in the here and now and the rat race, that we forget what it is to have dreams. ‘The Alchemist’ will restore your faith in the good of the world, the people in it and the dreamers who are brave enough to believe in and seek the euphoria of their dreams.

If you are anything like me … a bit of a dreamer and spend a ridiculous amount of time in your head fantasising and mapping out all these fantastic ideas about what you would like your life to become, but then procrastinate when it comes to making them happen, then read ‘The Alchemist’. It may just be the push you need to realise that your dreams can in fact become your reality.
Have a good week lovers and remember to always believe in and pursue your dreams no matter how big or small.

Happy Monday Lovers!

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a Monday Motivation, in fact, it’s been a while since I’ve posted anything! I have been so busy recently as I’ve started new job, but I won’t complain as change is good.
Anyhow recently I feel like I’ve just about had time to sleep, never mind blog or spend quality time with family and friends. So as my birthday was on Saturday I used this as the perfect opportunity to have all the people that I love and value the most around a huge table with great food, great drink and as always great laughs.

It was a simple birthday but the prefect birthday, as I was reminded of how much I loved everyone sat at that table and how important my family and friends are to me.
I am truly blessed to have so many magnificent, loving and supportive people in my world and I know that I wouldn’t be the person who I am without them all!

Value those you love the most, let them know you love them and always remember this, it’s not the quantity of people that you sit around the table with, it’s the quality.

Monday Motivation

Why is it that when something good happens in peoples live they sometimes feel that they have to down play their happiness or their excitement as it may make others feel uncomfortable and sad and as a result prevents them from being themselves?
Gloaters are not my kind of people and there is a difference between those who like to rub their success in people faces and those that humbly express with happiness and excitement the good things in their life. But when good things happen in your life why should you ever have to feel that you cannot talk about it of express it to those around you who you hold nearest and dearest?
Sometimes when good things happen to us which can be anything from a promotion at work, love, marriage or even children it can also signify change, not only for those of us that it’s directly happening to, but also to the people around us who we have close relationships with. Unfortunately some people do not deal with change as well as other and can cause a negative effect on your happiness… but only if you let it. If this has ever happened to you, is happening to you or may happen to you, remember this, you are entitled to your happiness and success, you were not put on this earth to solely to please others and never allow others to make you feel like you are not entitled to feel or be happy! If there are people in your life who make you feel this way, no matter how much you despise confrontation tell them how you feel and that it’s not on! If they simply cannot understand at the time or thereafter, leave them to it and go and enjoy your happiness and if this person genuinely cares about you and wants what’s best for you, eventually they’ll come around, and if not, what’s one less person in your life who won’t support you through the good times as well as the bad.

Have a great week, put yourself first and let go of those that suppress your happiness.

Monday Motivation

Good Morning my loves!

So now we’re into the third week of the new year and this is around about the time where everyone starts to forget or give up on their new year’s resolutions, the gyms will soon be empty only to be occupied by those with real dedication, diets are starting go out of the window and people are starting fall back into old habits.

Every new year is different for me as a result as what I have been through the previous year, but the same as most in December I reflect on the last 12 months of my life and think about what I would like to change. Once I have identified these changes I start to write down my list of resolutions as a way of setting the changes into motion for the year ahead.

So in December 2012 I looked back at my year at all the things that I had done, all the things that I had felt and all of the relationships that I have and thought about what I wanted out of them for the year ahead. So one day at work I wrote a long list of things that I must do, be and accomplish for 2013. One of the main things on the list was to be positive and thankful, because positive attracts positive, and who doesn’t want to live a positive life?
Staying true to my word from that day on I’ve remained positive and thankful for all of the blessings in my life. I told myself that I would strive for the best in 2013 and be thankful for any experiences that come my way even the ones that may not understand.  So last week Monday I was approached to go for a job interview, on the Wednesday morning I had the interview and left feeling grateful, relaxed and contented with whatever the outcome. By the afternoon on the same day I was offered the job!

Positive thinking and a positive attitude goes a long way my dears.
